Andare, Partire, Tornare ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Never trust a car salesman So I forgot to tell the story of what happened to my friend A and her car. She had bought a new Civic from a dealer, and after about three months of repeated problems with the car, finally got the news that the vital part she needed was backordered. They told her it would be another month, maybe more, until she would have her car back. She was frustrated and now unsure about the car's safety, and so traded the Civic in on a new car, taking a rather big financial hit on the trade, but considering it better than all the hassle that the car had already provoked. I was over at her house watching a movie a few nights later, when there was a knock at the door. It was an older couple, who had seen the car on the car lot, and thought it would be ideal for their daughter. The car hadn't even been cleaned out yet by the dealers, and A's name was in the glovebox on a piece of paper. The couple wanted the scoop on the car - it was a 2001, after all, and it seemed surprising that it was already a used car. It turns out that the dealer put the car back on the front lot the night A traded the car in, and when this couple had expressed interest in it, the dealer told them that there was a minor problem with the car, and it would be repaired by the next day! They also failed to mention some signifigant body damage that had been repaired - the car was, in their words, "perfect." So there was some serious lyin' going on, either to A, or to this couple. If not for the month of time given for the repair, A would have never traded it in! The dealership had the balls to get angry at her for even questioning the goings-on. So basically, most car dealerships are full of scum. Like that was a major news bulletin. In other news - it's the weekend, and I'm relaxing.
