Grand Opening

After a frustrating day yesterday (progress in fits and starts, but not enough to make us happy), the opening reception for the exhibit today went off beautifully. The graphics did arrive, and most people didn't notice (we hope) that the individual items did not have labels. So you could look at something that was clearly a rattle, and go, "Oh, cool," but you would not learn the date for it. But, as the curator said, people were probably not in any mood to look carefully at the exhibition - they just wanted a nice overall feel for it, and to let their kiddies run around and play in all the areas designed for that. It's an exhibit on childhood and toys, so it's very child-friendly, down to stools so they can peer into the cases, and areas for dressup, and cutouts so they can put their faces through and see themselves "dressed" as children in paintings. So, all in all, it was fabulous, and perhaps the curator has learned her lesson this time that you need to plan things out much further in advance so you don't rush around like a maniac three days before the exhibit opens.

And, as I am quite tired, I think I will go join my beloved spouse at the radio station so I can bring him his dinner, and then head home to bed.
