Andare, Partire, Tornare ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It comes in pints? I'm getting one! Two new google hits to report, and may I say that taken in combination, they're quite disturbing? They are: Turkey + brine "My pleather" Brined turkey pleather? Pleathered briny turkey? Could this be a new thanksgiving tradition? Perhaps not. But it should be. Went to see LOTR yesterday, and loved it immensely. I didn't get all choked up as often as I expected to, but there were some bits. When Gimli discovers the tomb of his When Galadriel, after a display of the powerful being she could become by taking the ring, softly says that she has passed the test, "and will diminish, and go to the west, and remain Galadriel." When Boromir manages to redeem himself after his weakness, and dies surrounded by the corpses of his enemies. Sam saying goodbye to Bill the Pony. And I got the back of the neck shivers like crazy, especially when you see Sauruman the White standing on his tower, calling down an avalanche on the Fellowship. So now, of course, I'm going to reread the books, which I enjoyed, but was perhaps too young when I read the first time. And I do love Kay's Fionovar Tapestry trilogy somewhat better, or at least I did - we'll see what happens on the reread. 8:46 p.m. - 2002-01-02 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
