Andare, Partire, Tornare ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- when the wandering fire... I've added a few new links to the Other Reads page, including two for authors who have written wonderful things. One of them is Diane Duane, and the other, Peg Kerr. A pic from the Penn State York Galleria East Coast Art History Geekfest: And, because I'm feeling slightly squishy, a favorite pic by a favorite Tolkien artist (in my mind, second only to Alan Lee), Anke Eissmann: As logical given my specific Tolkien obsession, it shows Boromir and Faramir on the walls of Minas Tirith. I've been reading such melancholy stuff - just finished a reread of the Fionovar Tapestry, which always, always, means tears, even if during this rereading some of the flaws of this earliest of Kay's writing became a little more apparent. It still has some of the most glorious passages anyone has ever written, and amazingly, the man has gone on to better himself. Absolutely breathtaking. 7:46 p.m. - 2004-01-07 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
