Shave that cat!
It's not actually raining, but the sun is refusing to even peek out from behind the grey clouds today. You can't see the top of the Washington Monument, and the brave crew of scullers rowing down the Potomac looked even chillier than they have been in past weeks. I admire their dedication, even as I wrap my scarf more firmly around my neck and trudge on to my obscenely warm office, where it's always Mid-July (note: for me, this is usually a Bad Thing. I hate being too warm).
Went last night to the Alexandria Animal Welfare League with Bemo to purchase a low-cost spay for Gracie. Bemo and I had to forcibly resist the urge to pick up another cat or two - they had so many personable ones hanging out, looking for attention. The dogs were adorable, too. Fortunately for our peace of mind, many of the cages had "Home Visit Scheduled" or "I'm Adopted!" signs on them, so we knew that their time in the joint was limited. My low-cost spay wasn't as low-cost as I had hoped, but next Wednesday, Gracie will finally lose her female bits and never begin the three am "fuck me" howling that we've gotten to know and hate. Plus, they'll pull what remains of the big fang tooth that was snapped off at the gum line.

The Italy Four, hanging out in Rome outside an Italian porno theater, and being gawked at by a typical Italian guy, who is of course, undressing us with his eyes. I love this pic, despite my oddly lopsided...ahem...chestal area, and the fact that I hate the shirt I'm wearing. Note to self: stop traveling in Italy with women who are cute and speak the language better than you do, because then you don't get the ass-pinching and sureptitious fondling every American woman traveling in Rome deserves.
