Andare, Partire, Tornare

The olden days sucked!

Rarely do you walk out of a dentist's office feeling elated. However, I skipped out of there this morning, because the bill was roughly a third of what the estimate had indicated it would be. Either I wasn't reading the bill properly (unlikely, because I read and reread that sucker in disbelief, hoping that the numbers would magically reduce themselves) or they way underestimated the portion that my insurance covers. Doesn't matter what happens - the result is that my monthly budget is no longer screwed beyond belief. In celebration, I reupped my Gold membership, so images should be back very soon.

I leave you with this little gem - a message left in our comment book for our current exhibit on samplers and quilts. Somebody doesn't quite understand the concept of a museum, especially not one that blatantly advertises the fact that it's tied in some way to the Revolutionary War.

"Why so much focus on the past? Were they that perfect? Be objective!"

Why thank you for that reasoned critique! Indeed, our ancestors were scum, and I'm not sure why we spend all our time idolizing them by displaying the raggedy crap they called quilts and the half-assed needlework that some no-talent child whipped up. How have we been so wrong for all these years?

Even funnier is the supportive comment just below this message: "Good point, [girl's name]!" Because finally, somebody is getting the message out!
