Andare, Partire, Tornare

my biznich is the shiznit

A few things going on, and I don't know if I have the strength of character to detail all of them.

Roommate is in LA, interviewing. We'll probably see her again on Saturday or Sunday, but we (and she) may not know if she's being offered the job - presumably they have other people to interview. Then again, if she's the overwhelming choice, it'll mean that our stopwatch has officially begun ticking.

Came home today to find the house empty. Bemo came in about ten minutes later, pissed off at his band because they made an appointment for him and didn't bother to, you know, *tell* him about it, and then he got a phone call from the guitarist, getting all up in his face. "You better be on your way, because the time at the studio is already paid for, and I'll be pissed off, and is torqued, and by the way blahblahblah lecture on things that aren't any of my buisness but I'm pushing my nose into it anyway." So, things may not go so very smoothly tonight at rehersal. If they go badly enough, Bemo is prepared to relinquish his dream of opening for King's X - he's pissed enough that quitting is no problem. We'll see if he pulls up tonight with his equipment in the truck. If he does, that's that.

His warehouse job opportunity turned out to be nothing of the kind - another bad promise made that turned out to be dust. The lead singer does occasional work for the furniture company that owns the warehouse, and he was the one that brought the "job opening" to Bemo's attention, but when Bemo pursued it, the manager told him that there wasn't a job opening, and he didn't know what the lead singer was talking about. So, you know, pfffft. A big fat fart in the wind.

Two nights this week, I've gone to bed at about six and slept the entire night. I'm not sure what that means. Well, besides the obvious.

Had a meeting from hell yesterday, but was gratified to know that our museum was the most prepared one that Colonial Williamsburg was dealing with for this map exhibit that will open Nov. 14. CW is having a few organazational problems themselves, especially with a weird combination of too many people involved, and other people being laid off, but the maps look really interesting. They're all early American ones - I think the latest in the exhibit is from about 1790 or so. If you're a map geek at all, swing by in a few weeks! We'll treat you all hospitable and suchlike.

Going to go cruise around and then watch Survivor. My priorities are in order.
